I only know it's an orchid because of the roots. It's quite small about 4in long. Anything would help. Thanks

Looks like either dendrobium or epidendrum, but I think it looks more like epidendrum.

My first thought was Epidendrum, but hard to say for sure ...

Anymore info on where you acquired it? What about the size of the original plant? Do you have a flower description (if you happened to see the parent plant)?

My first guess is that it's something like Neobenthamia gracilis. This is based on the thin looking leaves, and the fact that I know the little aerial pups fall and break off all over the place and they look just like that when they do.

Epidendrum is the next guess, but with fuzzy/smallish pics of a tiny bit of plant with no flowers, I'm going to say the identification game is going to be entirely guesswork.

If it's Neobenthamia, despite being known as lithophytes, they tend to do better in a more terrestrial mix like a cymbidium, possibly even with small amount of potting soil in the mix. They also like a lot of light, eventually being able to tolerate near to full sun once mature and acclimated.

If it's an Epidendrum, it'll need a more epiphytic mix or to be mounted, and high light.

I think some kind of reed stem Epidendrum is most likely, maybe Oerstedella. Until it flowers a more precise ID is unlikely.

Thanks for the input. Now that you've all gave me some ideas and I've looked at some pics online I'm leaning towards Neobenthamia. Sorry I have no other info on it.

Neobenthamia gracilis (or Polystachya neobenthamia) would be an odd thing to acquire as a NoID, but an interesting one to have. It has a lot of growing to do if it is.

I've been waiting for awhile for this one to bloom. I'm actually surprised to see it blooming at this size. Oerstedella centradenia looks about right from what I've seen? Anyone have this or thinks it may be something else? Any other cultural info would be great! Thanks
