Unsure of this orchid-possibly Dendrobium sp.? Female
Talking Unsure of this orchid-possibly Dendrobium sp.?

I got this piece of an orchid with two "roots" coming off of the bottom. I've placed it in bark and I've been fertilizing with NPK root liquid. Now it's got two small nubbies growing from the sides. Anyone seen this orchid before? I think it could be a Dendrobium anosum?
Thanks for any help!

It looks like some sort of reed stem Epidendrum.

There are several species, and I would not be surprised if there were hybrids between the species.

Looks very much like a Reed Stem Epidendrum Orchid.
Could not tell you witch one though. There very easy to grow, and sometimes grow like weeds. Flowers are small and in clusters at the top of the stem. colors are from Red, Orange, And Red'ish orange, And a few Yellows. I'ts any easy one to look up in any good Orchid book. Your going to love having this one and so will your friends.

The orchid situation on my property is so fluid that I go around several times a week and take photos to update the new spikes and bloomers in my online gallery's "Our Yard" album.
Today, along with the new bloomers, I've also taken several photos of the Epidendrums and their "invasive" progeny.
I also have "invasive" Vandas.
I'll get it together soon and post a thread in the Outdoor Gardening forum covering my "Invasives", Epi's, Vandas, Arundinas and Spathoglottis'.

I've got a lot on my plate right now.
But, I have begun to gather photos for the post.
It will take a while for me to get it together, though.

EDIT:

Well, I got the pics of my orchid weeds done this afternoon.
I have too many pics to post here.
It'd make a post 100 yds long.
What I'll do is make a "Weeds" album in my online gallery and post a link to it.
That way I can put up a lot of pics to illustrate why I call them weeds.
