This tag was inside the pot of a new addition, does this identify the orchid?

Thanks! Very cool!
:big-grin:
Is Dtps the one that I was reading on here that was reclassified? I'll also try to attach a pic to see if it can be established that it's tagged correctly.

Dtps. Lianher Glory really bad type o's or simply the printing did not stick on the label. Big white with maroon blotches center and a white and bright yellow lip. Very interesting and nice looking.

Yours looks a little faded out in the maroon. Each flower can be slightly different, seeing as the really prize winning ones get clones made of it. A lot of times I have seen these phals change shade slightly as the flower ages. I have one that comes out green and turns to yellow.

Yes that was an older bloom, it has some mechanical damage too...found it at a small grocery store, I think they were all handled kinda roughly

You know, it will give you great blooms next year. I have been really working hard on cracking the code to correctly care for phals. Gosh, they seem like the hardest ever orchid. All the others I have are producing roots and leaves like crazy. Phals hate my area, and I have 5 of them.

I know! I have a couple encyclia and a Brassia and both have new growths AND tons of new roots. I've come a long way with my Phals since my first one last September tho. Gone from killing them DEAD to bringing quite a few back from the brink and currently have 3 with new leaves and it seems slowly but surely most of my Phals are all starting to push out new roots. I went from 0 orchids last sept to 18 currently not counting the 5+ I killed before finding this forum

Yes, I think Dtps all changed back to just phalaenopsis now.

The named hybrid is supposed to be a spotted hybrid.
I know even the mericlone can vary, but yours might be mislabeled? at least that's my assumption.

It is pretty unique though!

I was thinking it may be...got it from a grocery store that normally doesn't carry them and they had phalaenopsis spelled "phalinopsis" lol Not that I would have known how to spell it less than a year ago either

I am, however, waiting to pounce on my husband when he wakes up with an "idea" to get 3 orchids I found online at Seattle orchids last night so I may soon have my first 3 non NoIds anyway lol (although, as I've said before, I am partial to NoIds being one of sorts myself ). Wish me luck, although I may not need much as I'm still unsure who's the actual orchid addict in this relationship and who's the enabler LOL

I did it! I pounced and he said yes! I ended up only ordering 2...Slc. Memoria Alvin Beggman 'Poem'
MSLeptbicolorand a Leptotes bicolor I can't wait!!! 2 day priority mail but one can't be shipped until after the 7th so I'm guessing they'll hold the order until then since it's less than a week away. YAY!!! Any tips and care advice on the 2 new additions in advance would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
