That'd be acceptable !
I'm so curious. I don't know if it has no tag because it's a NOID, or if the tag is missing just because a number of people lived in the house while the lady was in the nursing home and they didn't take care of it. Like I said, it was just lying on it's side with no pot, no medium...no nothing!

Definatly from the Cattleya Alliance, Id say that it needs to Bloom to get a good ID,
But Honestly I would doubt to get more than a Genus ID since so many Species / Hybrids look alike .

I see the light!
Here's an update on my mystery orchid!
It's been growing like crazy since I originally posted my question here. All the new growths have progressed happily. I recently found a sheath with something iside! Oh boy!!! After keeping close watch on it and seeing nothing, I looked again last week and the sheath was turning brown and starting to shrivel. I decided to help my baby along...I snipped open the sheath and found 2 tiny little buds, one promptly fell out but the other has tripled in size in a week's time! I expect to see something bloom very soon!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
