Default Need more info on P. Leora Hewlette

Ok I am hoping someone might be able to help me with this one. I purchased a Phal. Leora Hewlette from Balden Orchids off of ebay. The tag reads P. Leora Hewlette and I am hoping to find more info on it such as parentage. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really really appreciate it!

It's not a registered grex with RHS.

Thank you! I did email Balden Orchids and I was told that it was an unregistered cross that was about 20 years old from Hawaii and that was all the info I was able to get!

Thanks again!

Hmmm.....well I am not having much luck on finding anything on Phal. Apparition? The flower does look very similar to the flower of Phal. Intermedia....but the lip is a little darker in color.

Phalaenopsis intermedia (Star of Leyte) is a naturally occuring hybrid between P. equestris and P. aphrodite.
Translated version of http://www.phals.net/aphrodite/Intermedia.html
I couldn't find anything on P. Apparition either (even it's name is enigmatic)
It's a nice choice!
What others did you purchase from Baldan's ? Becca

Phal Apparition is basically Phal amabilis crossed with other closely related species such as rimestadiana and aphrodite.

Phal Apparaition= Phal amabilis x Phal Jeanne d'Arc

Beautiful spring colors
I have the 'River Bend' x 'Zuma Beach' - it is currently my avatar - I love the way the white edging gives a distinct picotee in contrast to the color of the petals and sepals and it's intense lip - you will love this one!
I had been eyeing the Lung Chin 'Grape' - I love the dark purple/rose coloration and fragrance of grapes - now that is different and to die for!
The Kaleidoscope hybrid and the Sunrise Star .. rainbow and golden beauties!
They should present an gorgeous display!
Great growing to them all
