That's not at all a Brassia, it looks to be some sort of Epidendrum. Beyond that I don't know since I don't know a whole lot about them.

It's a Coilostylis probably oerstedii or vivipara.

Epidendrum parksonianum.

it's probably Epidendrum oerstedii.
parkinsonianum has long, pointed leaves which always hang down.
viviparum usually has the pseudobulbs closer together, and has large bracts which stick out at nearly a right angle to the flowers.

lambelkip, I suggest you note the thinner, longer petals and the ruffled lip.

the flower is normal for Epidendrum oerstedii. The two species are very difficult to distinguish just by looking at the flowers.
As I said above, Epi parkinsonianum has long, pointed leaves which hang down. The leaves on parkinsonianum are also much thicker (like succulent leaves), and there's only one leaf on each pseudobulb.
I stand by my original identification.

can you post a picture of the whole plant? it seems that its not a tall reedlike plant...it has short oblong p-bulbs instead of canes...

Bud, this plant is from the Coilostylis section of Epidendrums, none of which have reedlike stems.

The familiar reed stemmed Epidendrums, such as Epi. radicans, are members of subgenus Amphiglottium.

Santa Barbara Orchid Estate has several plants from this subgenus, including Epi oerstedii and Epi parkinsonianum
