Default Miltonidium Bartley Schwarz 'Highland' AM/AOS

Now that the first blooms have opened on my plant, I think it has been mislabelled. Can anyone tell me if this could be a Mtdm. Bartley Schwarz 'Highland'?? I was expecting dark red with a white lip!

Hi Shirley

You are right it was mislabelled!

Probably a Odontocidium Wildcat, not the more common though! Pherhaps Odontocidium Wildcat 'Rainbow'. Try to find on the net.

I agree it's a Wildcat strain...and a beauty!

This looks more like one of the Colmanara Wildcat hybrids (Oncindium), not an Mtdm.

Yes, that's a beauty, but Bartley Schwarz is like half red and half white. This is a pretty bloom, however!

Default Odontocidium Wildcat 'Yellow Cat'

Thanks for your messages. I finally got a correct ID from the Sun-Moon nursery in Thailand. The plant is actually Odontocidium Wildcat 'Yellow Cat' and it is in bloom again now with two beautiful huge spikes. My background material isn't large enough to back up and show the entire plant! This stays in bloom for months and has become one of my favourites. Sun-Moon also gave me free the plant that I had originally ordered - Mtdm. Bartley Schwarz 'Highland'. Enjoy!

They are both pretty but I prefer the red one.
