ID on this noid - Orchid Board

Hi just came home from overseas, to find this chid. blooming. Anybody know what this is.

A precise identification is rarely possible for an unkown Cattleya hybrid, and that is a very small photo to work from (the attachment link doesn't seem to work), with limited detail visible. To me it appears to be a Cattleya (Guarianthe) bowringiana hybrid like Cattleya (Cattlianthe) Porcia or Portia. If it is a division of a very old plant those are likely choices and it should be easy to find pictures to compare it to. If it is a newer plant there are many more possibilities.

Is this a bifoliate, long cane Catt ??
As mentioned a larger pic would be good & one of the plant.

I hope this photo is better, (I have a new camera and am not used to it yet). This orchid was on a tree, when we purchased our house. I transferred into the pot you see, and has really come on in leaps and bounds in 2 years. It seems to be a short cane.The photo doesn't do the orchid justice. The lip of the flower is magenta in colour.

Definitely a C. bowringiana hybrid of some kind.

I still see influence from Guarianthe bowringiana (or maybe skinneri) in the new pics, but maybe less than my first impression. And the plant form seems to come mostly from big classic Cattleya hybrid types. Maybe something more along the lines of Cattlianthe Molly Tyler (1/4 bowringiana) than my previous suggestions of Porcia or Portia (both 1/2 bowringiana). There are hundreds of hybrids of those general types though, and no way to be sure. Very nice, but still a NoID.

I think if you google, Laeliocattleya Little Susie I think you might find it one of those. The one I looked at is so close. As others have said it is difficult.

Roy, do you think you could help with an ID of this beautiful Cattleya. Given by a friend to me last year, when I helped her with her repotting. It was a gift from her husband several years ago, just this one orchid, which had been potted off into several other pots. She was so sweet, she only had this one variety of orchid. I said I may be able to help her with an ID of this beautiful orchid.
