Default Please help identify my new Paphiopedilum!

Just bought this on Sunday! I'm looking for any info you guys have on this plant. I want to make sure it blooms again and again and again. This is also my first Paphiopedilum so any tips at all would be great.
Thanks!

Looks like a Callosum maybe, bright light, keep moist but not to wet in a shallow well drained pot or the roots will rot. Fertilize mild in the growing season and don't let water sit in the leavess or leaf rot can form.

Not sure what it is, looks similar-ish to some of mine but they are unidentified.

I grow mine in an east facing window and they are certainly growing but not rebloomed yet (had them less than a year though).

I fertilise the same as my other orchids, which is once a week, with a flush of plain water every 4th week. I use a standard orchid fertiliser.

I think I water less then I should, they always dry out between waterings for me and I have a feeling they should stay fractionally moister than that, but they seem to be coping.

it's a Maudiae type hybrid. it will be impossible to have an accurate ID. Too many similar Maudiae type hybrids, that it is not possible to accurately separate most of them from each other...

They are pretty easy to grow and re-bloom.. give it standard Maudiae type culture, and it willl do fine..

I live in Wisconsin and have put this orchid near a west window in my home. Do you guys think that will be ok? It gets a lot of light in the afternoon hours.....

Thanks!

I had mine in a west window late summer last year. The leaves got paler and I was told that was a sign it was too bright for it.

Of course in different parts of the world we get different light levels so I can't comment on exactly where you are.

At this time of year it should be fine on any side of the house, but you may want to keep an eye on it towards the summer.

Default Looks Just Like

Did you buy this from the Lyman Estates in MA? I just bought a paph last week from Lyman that looks exactly like your photo - it's labeled as "ruby mist x fair saint". I'm a total orchid noob, so consider the source, but the flower is identical and the leaves are identical. From the earlier comments, it sounds as though there are a lot of hybrids that closely resemble one another - but if you purchased your paph from the same place it would seem like a lock to me.

I'll try to post pics later on so that you can compare.

Good luck!

Can't ID it. I can tell that it is a hybrid of Paph sukhakulii or Paph wardii. But it is neither of these two, but it is rather a complex hybrid.

Enjoy it, because it is gorgeous!

What do you think? Could this be the same paph?
