Wow!! Thats one huge and happy orchid!!!!!! From this distance, to me, it could be anything with a pseudobulb. Maybe a Catt type.

Wow, so huge, know what type??? When it bloomed in 2004 what color were the blooms. Definitely a old Fl home

No, Tin - look at those old flower spikes. Looks like a very large Encyclia type to me

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

If I remember correctly they were small yellow flowers, I really wasn't into orchids then.

Its a Cattleya. A pic of that was posted here maybe a month or so ago. It was covered in blooms. Ill see if i can find it.

OK, i was wrong. The pic posted previously was also by you, flhiker, and was a Cat. (bowringiana??). But, different tree, location, etc.

Im too bold i guess. Id just go up and knock on the door and ask if they knew what it was. Either they too are orchid lovers, or just happened to purchase a home with monster cats growing on them.
