Question Phalaenopsis Violacea?

Hi, I've had this Phal for a while now and it seems very happy. It has bloomed twice this year which is nice. However, being the sort of person I am, I would like to know what Phal it is. At first I thought is was a Violacea but now i'm not sure. What do you think? All the images of Violacea seem to show them having equally sized petals. Mine doesn't.
I hope someone could help!

That is not a violacea, it's a hybrid Phal of some sort. It's very pretty! It might have Phal equestris somewhere in it's background, as it looks maybe like a multifloral...without a tag you will never be able to know it's actual name/cross, but if it's blooming, you must be doing things right for it!

Hi Gareth,

I'm afraid there are so many Phal hybrids out there, many of which have never been given a name, that it's impossible to ID an unknown Phal hybrid.

Sometimes you can take a guess that it looks very like a popular/well known hybrid but even then you cannot know for sure.

I give mine names, either completely made up or the same as something it looks like, but I always mark in my records that I really don't know the name.

Thanks for your thoughts. Looking at it again I think it might be related to the hybrid Harriettiae (amabilis x violacea). Like you said, it is probably impossible to be certain. I'm guessing you can have hybrids of hybrids? Probably why it was only £5!

Not only hybrids of hybrids, but also hybrids of hybrids of hybrids (and so on) Yours is just the typical unidentifable NOID which are all too common unfortunately. Very pretty pink though!

It's definitely a more complex hybrid and not a primary.

I agree with Royal. Complex phal and no violacea in the recent background.
