A Birthday present needs ID - Orchid Board

So my mom, who is also into Orchids, gave me this for a my birthday. I'm guessing it's some sort of Dendro., but what it is and how to care for it has me stumped. Any clues as to what it is and how to care for it would be greatly appriciated. I don't need a specific name, but a general classification would be helpful.

This is a Reed Stem Epidendrum. No idea on culture though as I do not grow any (successfully anyway!) but hopefully another member of the board can advise on care.

General Cattleya care is what it needs.

Thanks folks! I just moved the new comer into the orchid inclosure and into some very bright light. After looking up the name on google and getting some culture info I'm hoping this newbie will like it's new home.

Looks a lot like Epi. radicans Chas. They are as tough as old boots and thrive in full sun in a garden bed.
Don't know if they handle cold.

My Epis don't like the cold at all. I almost lost Epi Hokulea earlier this month when I let the GH get to 55 degrees. The leaves immediately got cold damage.

The lowest I can go is 61 degrees day or night and they like as much sun as you can give them. I have mine under the T5 bulbs in the GH and right now I am able to maintain 65 degrees at night with my heater.

The Hokulea is finally bouncing back. Boy did he protest.

I love the Epis. I have 3 Hybrids and 5 species.

I don't think so either. It's inside right now as we are expierencing a snow storm at the moment. I already have about 8 inches of snow in the front yard, with more on it's way. So no one (orchids) is going outside till next summer.

I've been reading about these and yes, they seem very hardy. My mom got two of these. She kept the reddish pink one for herself. Mine has a new growth stem coming up and I'm hoping to see another flower stem from that. It looks really cool right next to my Blc. Rustic Spots. Another orange flower orchid. I love the ruffles on this plant!

OK, so I just looked up Epidendrum radicans, and WOW! They can grow up to 3' tall. Another very big plant to add to my collection of large orchids. LOL!
