Default Looking for orchid ID please

I was told this was a type of cymbidium. It hasn't bloomed for me yet since I just got it a couple of weeks ago. I was told I could mount it by the seller but I'd rather not take the chance until I know for sure. Any info or educated guesses would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely not a Cymbidium. Looks like a reed stem Epidendrum to me.

I second the vote for dendrobium. The cane in the background looks familiar and the leaves look like my Den.Musangnil Sakda. It's only a guess though

Thanks for the quick responses! I'm rather disappointed that the genus name I got from the greenhouse was inaccurate... They said that in flower the blooms are orange or yellow. If another angle or a shot of the root system would help just let me know! Thanks again ladies and gents.

I would vote for dendro also, a very healthy cutting from a huge dendro. Just a guess.

It's unclear to me from the photo, but you are sure that this is a sympodial orchid, correct (not just 2 plants in one pot)? Just because at first glance it reminded me very strongly of a Trichoglottis, here's a link http://www.orchidweb.com/images/Trichph1B.jpg
and here Trichoglottis Tree Mount

Trichoglottis is vandaceous monopodial orchid and isn't super common to come across randomly in US so it doesn't seem super likely, but if it's not sympodial that would be my first guess.

If though it is def. sympodial, then I would venture reed-stem epidendrum or possibly a dendrobium, although something about it doesn't look right as a Den to me.

Good luck!

Sara

Upon closer look at the photo, is that an old cane in the background with a keiki on it? If so, I take back any talk of monopodial orchids and would say either def. reed stem or den.
