Definitely a Cattleya (definitely not a dendrobium), and what an amazing specimen. Id like to know how many years old that thing is.

Notice the tubular shape of the lip - it's nothing like a Dendrobium, and everything like a skinneri. I have a bunch of different skinneris blooming now, ranging in size from 2 inches in diameter to 4 inches. They range in color from pale pink, to deep purple. Skinneri is an easy, fast-growing Cattleya - everyone who loves Cattleyas needs one, IMO!

Definitely not a dendrobium kingianum. I have a few of them and they are nothing like the orchid in that first pic. They are however like the pic that says dendrobium kingianum in the link.

I too think it's a cattleya.
