These are a few pics of my friend's plant. I haven't been around orchids long enough to make a guess at this one. It was purchased out of bloom and was showing new growth most of this year in a bright SE window. It was moved outside recently facing east getting sun in the morning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like it might be an oncidium. Which one only time will tell with a blossom.
It also looks like it might have been out in the rain...........from the pics. it looks like crown rot.
A close up picture of the growth(s) where the leaves start to come out would be very helpful.
Others will chime in soon with their thoughts.
