I knew they were native to Asia, but thought they may have also been distributed in the Americas. I will have to find the picture of the large plants in situ in the rainforest... perhaps it was a relative of Dischidia then?

No ants here either , a few years ago I put mine in a clay pot in Av. mix . it blooms a lot and produces seeds . Gin

Cheryl, I did introduce myself and I am happy to be here. Dischidias are my thing so this thread caught my eye. Evedently at the rate I have been buying orchids, they are my thing also and yes I can read, write and rithmatic also. I also have white hair but I guess that isn't relative to the discussion either.
