Incredibly good smelling Oncidium (?)
If I can get pics up, I'd like to know what kind of orchid this is.The perfume is heavy and pretty much all day. Blooming the same time as my Dendrobiums here in the interior of Sao Paulo State, Brazil. I have it attached to a tree, and the blossoms have stayed open for a long time. The blossom stem is very long, and comes out of the end of the pseudobulbs.

It's an Encyclia. Looks Kind of like Encyclia tampensis but I'm not positive. Definitely an Encyclia though.

Hi, that's actually Encyclia and not Oncidium. They are normally very fragrant and the blooms is very longlasting.

Imagine! I have a Encyclia, a new genera for me. As for now, I think it's flabellifera. It comes from the Sao Paulo area, the coloring is perfect, especially the way the things in the middle turn back and are white. The photo I've uploaded shows leaves a bit more crumpled up than mine, but that's because I messed with mine a little too much for the photograph. I discounted tampensis because it is too small and not a Brazil native, and also acuta for being too small a plant, but they sure look like my photos. Seeing the plant in person makes it easier to tell relative sizes. This was fun, thanks for steering me in the right direction. I may still be wrong because there are sooo many Encyclia!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Is that your own photo? Wow! I can't get a nice black background. On the site that kavanaru suggested there are so many look alikes it's really hard to be certain.
One thing I'm glad about is that I was going to peel it off the tree and put it in a pot, but all the info says that it likes board mount or in a tree, so I guess it stays in the tree. Saved me doing extra work to ruin my orchid.

I think it looks a lot like Enc. naranjapatensis....maybe an alba. IOSPE PHOTOS I think tampensis side lobes stay closer to the column.
