What is this Dendrobium?
I recently purchased this when it was in bud. The shop owner and I discussed the possibilities of what the blossoms would be like. However this possibility didn't come up.It was labelled "mini Dendrobium".It has a faint fragrance and several canes, each with buds or blossoms. The blossoms are 1 7/8 inches wide at the widest place,and the tallest cane is 12 inches tall. It has so many aerial roots it looks like it is sitting in a bird's nest.
Can someone enlighten me please?

I think my search is ended. Someone on another forum pointed me in the right direction. The Den.that I have is probably Den. Blue Twinkle,an antelope type.I had never seen one before.

It may or may not be Blue Twinkle, but it is certainly that type of breeding. There are a lot of Blue Twinkle hybrids, too. Looks pretty good though.

I wouldn't put it past a Dendrobium to consume it's own name tag to confuse it's owner. Tricky little devils they are.

It's so pretty and loaded with blooms, nice choice, I have one of those dends that the chid gremlin ran off with the tag too. It's going to be hard to narrow a dend down to appropriate named tag as there are over 1,500 species and not to mention thousands of hybrids. Hopefully a member will have a look alike, it's just not right to have a nameless chid.

Thankyou all. I am going to call it "possibly Blue Twinkle".There are so many orchids that look almost alike it is probably impossible to pin it down exactly,so close will have to suffice.At least I know what type it is.

That is an excellent idea, I wish more people would do that. 'Possibly Blue Twinkle' is perfect. Too many people just guess and throw a name on the tag, and then it is there forever.
