Default Everyone take a guess.

I just won this orchid on ebay. The seller says "its a mysterious cross from the growers at riverside university". He calls it C. 'last try'.

I was just wondering if anyone would to take a guess at what the parents might be.

Whatever it is, it's a beauty!

However...without a name, it's a NOID and that seller just found a fancier way to say it

Perhaps you can contact Riverside University
I tried to look up Cattleya Last Try in the RHS registry but nothing came up for it

Whatever it is - it's a beauty!

yes it is the same place. his name is toomanysales2. I took a big chance since he just started selling. I've asked if there will be more divisions. I am just waiting for an answer. It is being shipped bareroot in live moss so I'm hoping it will be ok.

It is a 2 lead/growth division and my first Cat. So I will pay special attention to it. Maybe when I become a more seasoned growing I can pollinate it and grow seedlings from it.

It seems to have a strong resemblance to C. dowiana. Perhaps a cross between a var. aurea and var. rosita.
