NOID Dendrobium ring any bells?
Default NOID Dendrobium ring any bells?

This Dendrobium had somehow survived for years in deep shade just sitting in a cup of old and rotten sphagnum—this spring I removed it from that vile place and mounted it to a tree. It must have appreciated that because it’s bloomed twice now along with putting out a couple of new canes!

I have no idea where this came from and it’s been around longer than I’ve cared about positive orchid identification—does this look like anything noteworthy or is it more likely that it’s just a random NOID den from like a hardware store?

Thanks in advance!

It likes your climate, for sure. And it's a pretty one. There are so many Den-phal hybrids (many not even registered), and many look similar, it will need to stay NOID. Which would matter only if you wanted to use it for breeding or seek an AOS award. Otherwise, just enjoy its beauty.

Thanks for your input, Roberta!

No matter what it is, I’m proud of this one—it certainly has come a long way and has endured through the recent spells of tropical activity!
