What is this Bllra. Marfitch Howard dream doing? it has one inflorescence, but then i see another tiny pseudobulb emerging with a completlely different-looking spike. This flowered last year normally.

There is a growth point (meristem) at the base of every leaf. Most never develop. Your plant for some reason decided to make more flowers.

Hi thanks for replying. I am not sure if I get what you mean. The thick spike that is coming out, that looks familiar but the thin long spike looks like an oncidium spike similar to a cherrybaby. I know this is hyprid of many crosses. So not sure what will that yield if any.

The top spike is from an unusual location so it may not develop normally. It also might become a new plant instead of flowers.

I have several beallara marfith howards dream plant...
It seems somewhat common to me that they make spikes out of the tops of the bulbs, as well as out from the bottom. The spikes coming out of the top quite often are smaller weaker spikes with fewer flowers, but not always.
The flowers are still beautiful and look just like the others, just fewer of them on a skinny stem.

As ES stated, there is a growth point inside each bract (= leaf). It can produce either an inflorescence, or a new growth. If from the top of the pseudobulb, it is often weaker than the inflorescences emerging from the base of the PB.

Young plants usually produce only a single inflorescence and a single growth. Mature plants can do 2-3 inflorescences and two new growths.

In Germany I once saw a large group of various Oncids, and virtually all plants had either 3 or 4 inflorescences. I have never seen this so consistently on plants blooming for the 2nd time, but not really mature size yet. I suspect that they have been given some kind of 'chemical help'.
