Hmmm... I looked around at my own plants to look for something similar that might give me a clue. Those big, leather-like leaves with no pseudobulbs looks a lot like Stelis purpurea or Stelis maxima. One of tehe photos does look, though, like there might be a small pseudobub, if so than it's not Stelis. But there are some other contributors to the Board who are a lot better on identifications than I am. So let's wait for some more people to jump in.

I looked up Stelis orchids and it very well does seem to match! While repotting I noticed a small round shaped whitish colored "organ" if thats correct, under the leaves. But no, no pseudobulb that I have ever seen. As for the Masdevallias you advised me with yesterday, I found some peat moss and made a 40% peat moss, 20% coconut fiber and 40 % finde grade pine bark mix and they seem to be really happy! Thanks for all your help Roberta.

If it is Stelis, they like to stay somewhat damp. Perhaps a little less damp than the Masdevallias. Also, they are are definitely not delicate... I have those two species, and they grow like crazy. Two or three years, and you can share with a friend...
