Mixed up tags on my orchids!
Help, please! I have mixed up the tags on some plants (not in bloom, of course). I found both tags on the same plant . I also found 2 more plants that may fit the description with no tags. Which tags go with which plants, hmmmm . I have a picture of the 3rd plant in bloom. I am pretty sure it is Henry Goldberg. So, which of the other 2 is Carolyn Reid? (They all have red flowers). Thanks

Hi Susie, Speculation is all I have, but the first and third plant look very much alike. The second has a totally different look. You have 2 tags of Carolyn Reid???? Or two plants???? I'm a little confused at what you mean. Sorry! Perhaps someone else can help.

Ok, sorry for the confusion. Both tags were on plant #3. I am almost sure that plant #3 is Henry. So Carolyn could be plant #1 or #2. Plant #2 has some fat "bulbs" on it. Please help!

Hello again! I am still trying to figure out which of the plants (in the first post above) is possibly
'Carolyn Reid'. Any ideas? The 'bulbs' on plant 2 are much bigger than plant 1 or 3. I really need to repot that one! The leaf damage is old and not as bad looking in person. (Please don't think I am a bad parent!)

I've mixed up tags myself, I am sorry to say. . .
I can't help with the identification but I can tell you that the way out of these "situations" is to photograph all your new plants right when you get them. . .photograph them WITH the tags. LOL

Gwen, what an awesome idea! Silly simple yet I had never thought of it! Thanks for that suggestion. I have three that are now NOID's cause I somehow lost the tags.
Honestly, this is exactly what I love about this site.

I really don't know. . .but I do my fair amount of it.
Kiki, that's exactly what I think, we all do so much better when we share what we know. . . .learn maybe ten times faster and with fewer mistakes, and here's the ironic bit. . .we save money so we can spend money!!! *evil laughter*

I have used this idea and it seems to have worked, as tags get lost when repoting ,moving etc I number the tag and the pot, end of problem. Up to no 231 at present.
So much to learn so little time.
