Can you please help me identify this orchid. I think it is native to East Africa

That is an Aerangis I'm not sure which species yet, but I will take a look and see if I can find it.

Aha! I am 99% sure that is Aerangis kotschyana.

Nice one Afid. I think you have it.

Also, pretty disappointing and pretty poor how a search for something like 'african orchids' or 'african native orchids' etc doesn't appear to show that type of orchid. I think the internet needs to pull up its socks on this one.

Yeah, it is surprisingly hard to find good info on that sort of thing online. Even any sort of ID reference at all is a challenge.

all My orchid enthusiast friends find it so hard to identify the local orchids and the general feeling is that some are not even catalogued
