Well, I think I have worked out the genus, gotta do a bit more research before I can say what it is exactly though.

Ah, I think past-afid did not in fact have the right genus, but I think I do now.

Ok I think I have it worked out, but I might be wrong, there are two very similar species and I can't quite tell which it is with any certainty, but I'll go ahead and make a guess. (highlight to show) Oncidium peltiforme, if it isn't that, my next guess is the extremely similar Oncidium andradeanum.

It barely even resembles any of the other species in the subgenus! (except for the one other species that is nearly identical). When I first saw it I thought for sure it was a Cyrtochilum of the section Myanthum (see C. myanthum for an idea of what the section is like). There is a lot of convergence between genera in the Oncidiinae, keeps me guessing whenever I try to ID something! |
