Default wife was after a nice yellow guy and came home with this guy.

we wanted a small guy but she fell in love with this huge guy when we could not find any yellow ones. I should've bought the yellow one I found yesterday but was not sure of course today none to be hand in several stores. but she fell in love with this tiny little guy.
lucky it is noted in bark but even with the vase it is top heavy. plus the plastic pot has no slits. I am debating on how to deal with it. I have a big enough piece of bark to mount it on but it is so big and the flower is huge. I was thinking a 8" mesh basket and that set in a clay pot add some gravel to the bottom of the mesh to add weight. that should give it some air and weight as long as there is some space been the mesh and the clay pot. or just the clay pot with gravel? we have one phal like that dries out in a few days.

Your repotting idea should work fine.

I would like to mount it but it would be hard with the flower. hard for my wife to water it when she dips it too. she is in love with that huge flower it is pretty cool. my wife is blind so she knocks things around so he needs to be pretty stable.
well got it done there is gravel in the bottom of the mesh basket for weight and in the clay pot. I had to tie the trellis to the pot to keep it upright.
