I couldn't help picking this pretty thing while I was at Ikea. It was the only/last one peeking out at me like a kitten waiting to be taken home. I've never seen a phal like this before, would anyone know here?

Can't help you with the ID though but it looks slightly peloric. Cute!

I was also wondering abut the wonderfully frilly petals and there being some peloric influence. They almost look like Cattleya petals. You might get lucky and get an ID, but you're likely going to have to settle for growing this beauty as a NoID. If there's a tag on the plant, though, try contacting the grower to see if they can tell you.

Whatever the name, it's a truly delightful flower!

Haha, I actually was so enamored by the coloring I didn't notice the frilling until I got in the car and was alarmed that it may be sick until I noticed all the flowers had it. So I have a peloric orchid? Wow, I never thought I would stumble across one at Ikea ^_^

Yes, I've seen similar flower like this between Doritis (now Phalaenopsis) pulcherrima yellow splash flare known as var champorensis crossed to phalaenopsis bellina.

See this photo of Phal pulcherrima on Alain's site

I cannot easily locate a photo of pulcherrima x bellina.

I always look for a new Phal at IKEA, one that I don't have. Whatever kind they are, they are sturdy growers. Yours is kitten cute for sure. And Peter, you are torturing me.
