Default Dead Phal without reason

So some weeks ago I purchased some orchids on the internet, and among them a blooming Phal. Kaoda Twinkle.
It was looking good until last week, when suddenly I woke up one morning and two leaves in the middle were turning yellow from the base, and when I graze them they fell.

I know orchids usually shed leaves from the bottom, and that sometimes in case of disease, specially rot, the top ones fall. I was puzzled because the orchid didnt show any signs of stem or crown rot, and had been taken good care of.
The flower spikes started drying up with the blooms on them and I cut them trying to save the orchid. But regardless it kept losing leaves, like the stem itself had dried up. All this happened over like 3 days at most.

The orchid is dead, the roots were the last thing alive, in fact it had a great root system. And now I just want to know if you guys have any ideas of what happened. Its my first orchid to die, and it was my favourite iny my collection and it really bothers me not knowing what happened because I can't learn from it.

Sorry if this was too long, but again, if you have any advices or ideas let me know, thansk a lot !

Sorry to hear that. Hard to tell when it started. They can loose leaves pretty fast. I have lost 2 to crown rot. I think the only thing you can do at this point is hope it will throw a keiki.

My interpretation from your description is either crown rot, or collar rot (the last is also called southern blight)

I checked up the symptoms and its similar but never appeared something that could make you think of a fungal infection, tho it may have been. Maybe it develop over transport.

If I had to describe it the simplest way, it's like the stem dried up just because. No signs of infection imo. So everything dried up really fast cause there was no water in the stem. Roots were the last to fall, when all the plant was gone, and I notice them geting dried up from the stem, like everything else had died. And at that point I just confirmed its death.

Thanks a lot for trying tho. Anything I learn is good
