Default Phal. Princess Kaiulani (violacea x amboinensis)

Forgot about this one. It flowered during summer and is in spike again. This is a very nice primary hybrid, and it seems very easy to flower and grow. The amazing, almost unreal, colours of this clone (probably 'Chin Yo') doesn't make it any less attractive in my, very biased, eyes.

I really like crosses with violoacea/amboinensis/bellina in the parentage. I don't have this one...yet...

Oh wow, look at those incredible colors!!!! You have such a great Phal collection. Nice to see you are still on OB, I wasn't around here much until a few months ago.

Thanks guys. It's fragrant, too, so if you like that, it's a double win.

For those in the US; I think I read somewhere here on OB that Peter Lin (Big Leaf Orchids) has this clone from time to time, so keep an eye out there if you're interested.

Hi there Camille! My Phal collection has shrunk considerably, since I'm suffering from depression, and has been for some time now. I haven't cared for them properly, with predictable consequences.

BTW, this one's from Schwerter... They still have it...

I hope you feel better soon! I was dealing with some pretty bad stress related issues most of this year, and my collection also suffered a lot. I'm sad to have lost some of my favorite Phals, including 2 of my Phal equestris color forms.

I was thinking of ordering some things from Schwerter in the spring though, so I'll add this one to the Schwerter wishlist!

I love it. I have 2 of them. I don't generally have enough space to be keeping duplicate plants, but it is worth it for this.

If anyone in the US wants one, Big Leaf had them recently for $35. They are good easy growers too. It is a total package as far as I'm concerned.

That makes at least two of us. Let's just say there are other, and funnier, things to spend your time on than depression.

Aww... I hope you're better now.

I've also lost one equestris, my little 'Fairy Tale'. I was suspicious when I got it, 'cause it had some weird spots on one of the leaves. These spots spread and they looked an awful lot like virus to me. Eventually it got so ugly I threw it away (couldn't afford to test it). It was almost in constant bloom and it even got a keiki that spiked as well. I'm just glad I kept it isolated from the get go, but I really liked it.
