Good to hear your wife is ok and at home! I hope she remains strong in body, mind, and spirit. Same for your Orchids, the look beautiful!

All the best,
Lotis

Thank you so very much. It has been a long haul, and we still have a long ways to go. Very difficult times past, present, and future. But Deb is a survivor! Greg.

I made the changes on the listings above. I 'googled' all the names and you are indeed correct. They are the same orchid. Is it a dtps. or a phal. (not that it matters too much)? Thanks, Greg.

Thanks Shannon. We are still very busy with doctor appointments and follow ups, including another trip to Mayo on Wednesday through this weekend. I never mentioned this. I have around 70 different orchid plants. We were gone during her surgery for three solid weeks. None of the plants (including 150 or so other houseplants) ever got watered and the humidity slipped down to 27% upstairs and down to 19% in the basement. To my knowledge, I only lost 2 seedling houseplants and no orchids! They appeared very sad when we first got home, but all have rebounded nicely! They too are survivors! Greg.

Dtps. was reclassified a couple of years ago and is now just Phal.

Glad you wife is doing better. Here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery!

Thank you so very much!!!! We met with one of Deb's oncologists today, and he wants us to continue with a milder different type of chemo. Right now there are no visible cancer cells, however, because the cancer had spread to other organs which also were removed, he feels that there might be some micro cancer cells lurking that cannot be detected. He feels that we have the cancer on the run, and we still should keep attacking it. It all makes some kind of sense! I wish that I could take the cancer (and the pain and suffering) away from Deb and let me deal with it. Greg.

Default Totally missed something in my pictures!

If you look at the very first thumbnail/picture of Dtps. Deleons/Gan Lin Fairy '1012', it is indeed a peloric. I did not know anything about pelorics until I read someone's entry on peloric orchids. It surely makes this plant quite unique. The original blooms are still very much intact and healthy. I wonder if being peloric adds life to the blooms (I doubt that).

More important, Deb is doing much better. She has an important appointment with the oncology department on May 5th, probably the decision to resume chemo or not and what now lies ahead for her. Greg.
