Question "Blue Phal Seeds" Scam??

As much as I wish this was real, I'm reeeeeealy thinking it's a scam. It's a scam, right? There's no "blue" phals, and if they're called blue they're actually a variant of purple or something, so this must be a scam.

I'm pretty sure it's a scam...AFAIK they're dyed blue and any listing that lists 10 orchid seeds is just ridiculous. Not sure how to report them though...can't seem to find an appropriate category.

I reported them for "fraudulent listing practices", 'tho there was no place to enter an explanation of WHY I thought it was fraudulent. And it is SO fraudulent. Those "blue phals" are a particularly sore spot for me.

The color is done in paint shop, if more people would report these kind of auction they would make them stop selling them.

Right now, the only way I know of to get a phal to look that BLUE is to inject it with dye before it blooms, so the very idea of them selling SEEDS that are supposed to be blue is just plain insulting. It's pissing me off. Fake blue phals piss me off, this pisses me off, like, 10xs worse.

I am truly a hardcore orchid nerd, it seems.

I can't believe these people are still doing this.
I think I've seen someone report this same person about 20 times now.
I'd also love to see them count out and package just 10 seeds.

The dyed one's make nice gifts. People love getting them.
And it's an amusing novelty to have for a bit. Like when my cat had to get a lion cut for a while.
And under that tacky dye job is actually a very very good white phal clone.
I've seen stunning reblooms.

I think there's a thread somewhere... but some scientists somewhere did make a real blue phal. More of a denim blue I thought... but blue.

Just as a side note, the "blue" ones that are actually purple. I think it's just about the prettiest shade of purple out there. If you haven't looked into any I highly suggest it!
My favorite "blue" phal smells like cinnamon rolls!

Practically everything that user sells is a scam. Notice the listing that's using a Dracula and/or other Masdevallia relatives and claims they bloom 70 days from sowing. Then there's the "rainbow" rose seeds. God, this would be a 1,000 word post if I were to mention all the scams this person is pulling.

Ebay should wise up. In the short term, they do appear to be making money by helping scam artists take advantage of buyers. In the long run, they're participating in fraud and eroding peoples' trust in their brand.

Well considering that they are from Mainland china according to the profile it wouldn't surprise me. Plus the blue in the photo doesn't look right.

What? Which ones smell like Cinnamon rolls. I must have it.

Indeed!
Cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Near sunset the scent changes to a fruit loops smell before going away for the night.

Unfortunately the cinnamon rolls phal is a NOID from a garden center. So no name. But I do have a very good idea on the parentage, and there are multitudes of crosses with similar attributes.
Phal. Kenneth Schubert, Phal Purple Martin etc...
I suspect mine is one of those two crosses. Both should come with fragrance but the fragrance can vary from plant to plant.
I think cinnamon is a common scent with these phals though.

Here's the cinnamon phal lol.
