thanks everyone. The patterning really is interesting. i dont believe there is any corningiana in this one. Form and striping are similar, but the lip doesn't fit that flower at all. That said, I got in touch with the nursery and we are tracking where this came from. I've got a lead on it really being a Samera (an interesting one at that), so stay tuned.

it will be interesting if you find out. That flower is really odd-shaped and coloured.

k, confirmed on the cross. This is apparently originally from Hauserman's cross of Phal violacea (Malaysia x Borneo), aka a Phal Samera. The nursery bought the flask/compot/seedlings labeled CH19573, which is the number I have on the tag (though it's labeled bellina), and is also the number currently listed on Hausermann's website for this cross. Here is an updated image of this one. The pattern is really interesting, and hopefully the next blooming will improve the form a bit more. Color hasn't faded any, it's just a little more accurate now, and the smell is all bellina.

Jarad, Glad to see that you have a solid confirmation on this. It really is an interesting and unique flower, especially for a Samera!

Great news that you have an ID, good to have the flask number on your tag at least.
