Default Phalaenopsis Brother Lawrence 'B#9' AM/AOS 4N

This is a 3 year old meristem clone of a select plant of Phal. Brother Lawrence. The flowers are bright yellow with concentric brown markings and a white center. This is a first bloom from seedling from the cross (Phal Taipai Gold X Phal. Deventeriana). Warm growing. This hybrid takes low light so I grow it on the east facing window of the bathroom. My big mistake was when I first put it on the south facing window and burned a couple of leaves(which I cut) and the buds almost blasted had I not transferred it in the nick of time(only two blooms with one bud coming out). This is floriferous so I hope to get it right the next season of blooms…the flowers are fragrant specifically noticeable at noon with a light waft of pine needles and fresh cut grass…I give it the Phalaenopsis culture on SH method (see pictures) the big healthy roots are already well established on the hydroton almost touching the watermark, I don’t give it cold water; only room temps or when I flush it twice a month …I use tepid water from the sink. When I say tepid I mean the skin of my elbow can tolerate the temperature.

Very nice color!! And the spotting makes it even better. Too bad about the sun burn, though I don't know many Phals that can tolerate sunlight from a south window. Hopefully it will make a full recovery.
Where did you take the pics? Curious since you live in Manhattan.

That's a beautiful phal.. It's a popular hybrid that's been used a lot by breeders.

Thank You, Sonya !

@Camille...it is recovering. I cant take pictures inside my apartment so I bring it down at the back of the building by the sidewalk where the trash is being picked up...theres trees on the sidewalk and some walls to prop the plants up and a small grass area where the dogs run

Thank You, Tucker ! yes it is a popular plant...

Thank You, Josh !

Outdoor pics sure beat taking pics on a windowsill! Though i'd feel kind of silly taking my plant downstairs for a photoshoot! Maybe I should try it sometime.

Bud I have seen this one and boy is it a beauty! Thanks for the pics. Who gets tired of looking a beautiful orchids anyhow.

I am a photographer and if you shoot on an overcast day, your colors will be truer and use the tree trunk as a back drop. Just a suggestion.

@Camille...my lighting indoors is really bad since I only use lapshades and little digital bulbs to conserve electricity in my apartment...but photographs of my plants outdoors in a private setting with not much people around will not be silly...thats why I photograph at the back of my building where the garbage is...so no one goes there at all except delivery trucks

Thank You Susan ! for your kind words and photography suggestion...I am not a photographer; Im just dabbling on it to showcase my orchids...
