Phal Talin Lion. The plant is not well. I got it from orchids.com and sadly you could tell right away it wasn't a good plant but orchids.com gave me store credit to make up for the bad plant. I've managed to keep it alive thus far but have had to baby it a lot. It had a spent spike but I applied Keiki paste to it anyway and this is what happened. So no Keiki but a flower instead. It just opened but you can see the Gigantea influence in this one. Hoping it'll pull through!

Also does anyone know if you can go to the orchids.com, Normans orchids, greenhouse in person? I'll be in la next month and would love to get a new Talin lion since I'm too stinking impatient to grow a Gigantea species.

Beautiful Phals! I too am going to California next month and was wondering the same thing about visiting Normans. Let me know if you find out anything and if I find anything out I will let you know.

Will do. On another site I was told you can in fact visit their green house. I've written them but never heard back.

Tying Shin Blue Jay. About as blue as they come. I have a clone of its parent plant, Purple Martin as well... The two actually look identical to me!
