Default My blooming Noid Phals :)

I have to show them off after all, don't I?

At the moment I have three Phal Noids that are blooming, my (possible) 'Black Jack' (and yes, there's part of a cat butt in this photo), (possible) 'Brother Spring Dancer', and my peloric little Phal nick-namned the Mutant.

Alright, I actually have six Phals that are blooming, but I don't count three of those since they're recently purchased which means that it's not thanks to my care that they're blooming.

How pretty!! Why not show the other Phals too? Sure you didn't bloom them, but you need to feed our obsession a bit further.

Your possible Brother Spring Dancer looks so identical to my noid!

Bud - It's one of my absolute favs and it's about to escape out of its pot. After it's done blooming I'll re-pot it. It seems to like me since it has those sticky "feel-good" droplets on it. I think it has planned to take over the windowsill considering how much it has grown since I bought it...

Camille - Alright, I'll show them too. Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of my Phal 'Philadelphia' so you'll have to be satisfied with bad ones.

I know! I've checked your photos and they're almost clones of each other!

I see that your Philadelphia has exactly the same spiking habit as mine! It's impossible to get them to grow upright, they prefer going out to the side. Yours is leafier than mine, it refuses to have more than 3 leaves at a time! I love it so much that I want to buy a second one...

If you didn't know, 'Philadelphia' is actually the trademark name, and so not the official name of it. Wiganiae is the correct and RHS registered name.

You have great noids!

camille: Oh, darn. You mean I have to learn the more difficult name for my darling ('Wiganiae')? I didn't know the difference between the names, thank you for informing me!

It was so beautiful that I couldn't just walk away from it. Out of the three Phals I bought that day the 'Wiganiae' is definitely my favourite one (and it didn't even have to try ). I think I've had for a week now and it has lost some flowers but otherwise it looks fine. I was actually expecting it to loose some more due to stress and the fact that it had to endure -10C (or 14F) during the transportation home.

fishmommy: Yup, that is a cat butt. He just had to have his best part showing in the photo.

I love it too. It's my only identified Phal so far, a primary hybrid Phal 'Wiganiae' (schilleriana x stuartiana).
