looking for mini phals
Hi all, due to spacial constraints (too many orchids (like that can happen!!!!)) and I am starting to look at mini phals as an option (since not buying more is NOT an option).
Can anyone give me the names of a few good mini phals, or what cross or species I should look at?
are there any minis that are scented?
Regards, mary

Hi Phalguy, thanks so much for the listings of minis. One thing I forgot to ask is if the culture requirements of minis are any different the the norm for phals.
How bout Phalaenopsis stuartiana; is that a mini? Do any of the ones you have listed need to be mounted or are they okay with being potted?
Kindest Regards, mary

Info on stuartiana
IOSPE PHOTOS
I have my species phal lueddemanniana potted as I am going to pot my new phal equistris .. ..
As far as culture, I don't think it is too much different. Well drained medium, they like it moist but not soggy. You can let them dry before watering ..
Their roots are smaller than my larger phals so I will be keeping a more watchful eye on them

My son has Phal. mannii. It's teeny tiny, and according to D's list is fragrant as well.

Phal mannii is said to have the light scent of oranges (citrus)

thanks to everyone who was (is) kind enough to let me know which phals are minis. My orchid club (Foothills Orchid Soc.) is having a show in Sept 28th to 30th so I will be going armed with my "mini" list. I will probably be stressing over running out of room for the minis....(and so it goes). kindest regards, mary

I think Phal gibbosa is also a mini. Any hybrids with P. gibbossa, P. lobbii, and P. parishii should be minis.
Dorothy, shoot, my Mini Mark was not fragrant. I hope it puts on some sort of perfume later on.
