Default phal recovery(s) going well

I had the phals in bloom and did fine...is when they start dying off is after they bloom and I repot them..I think I know why now after reading up on Rays free info link. The aerial roots I covered up..The problem was that all the roots in the pot STARTED as aerials from the top and worked they way down into the pot. I covered up effectively killing the roots in the pot bec I smothered the aerial roots on top..Learned..
In fact, one I buried the aerial roots on and it popped out 4 more aerial roots..So no more covering up the aerial roots when they need repot for me...

These are doing really good for a phal killer.
there maybe some hope for me enjoying them in the future after I figure all this out and stop killing them

They all look great.

I always have problems when I repot phals., aerial roots or no aerial roots. Four were switched to mounts today and the remaining 3 were left potted. Hopefully the mounts will begin to establish before our weather changes.

thanks again!!~
I love the phal blooms and got to thinking after a few dozen KILLS that I cant keep doing this...Hired Phal assasin.
I work on these ,my LAST ones for awhile ,if we both continue to do well I can consider myself a no longer a phal killer...just make me so frustrated that so many just seem to have the phal touch...I do too is just more the black death..Im trying very hard to change those Facts...
Going to be careful and not too happy for now..but feel good is okey

I always stick the aerials down in the medium when I repot and have never had a problem with them dying. They usually just take right off and continue growing. I usually make sure when repotting that things are nice and loose and not compacted. If you think about it Keikis would always die if that were true. They start out as a bunch of aerials and we don't think twice about potting them up.
