Default I have Six Phals in flower just now!

I seem to have lots in flower just now

Most of the Phals are NoID and are reblooms for me. They are all very late, I think I had them too cold over the winter and they went dormant. The exception is the Phal. Sogo Lovely which I bought in bloom in June.

This first is a semi-mini, it was a given to me by my husband's aunt and this is the first time it's flowered for me (she couldn't remember what it looked like). The flowers are small compared to most of my Phals but bigger than some of the real minis.

This one is really similar colour to the first... but this one is special. This is my first orchid, this is the orchid which started it all for me, this orchid almost died but with the help of OB it recovered and is now flowering again for the first time in ages.

This is my BK look-alike. I showed pics of this as it first started to open but it's now in full bloom.

This one is stunning! 29 flowers, 23 of which are on one spike (and it's side spikes) and just 6 on the second spike. I've only staked the first spike because it is sooo heavy with flowers!

OK, I'm cheating slightly because this is a pic of this one flowering last year as I've not taken any yet this year, although it's in flower by about the same amount. I love the white with dark red center. At first glance this is easy to confuse with the previous orchid, but this one is pure white with dark red center while the previous one has pink veining in the white and a pink (rather than red) center.

Finally Phal Sogo Lovely which I bought in flower in June.

All these phals are looking so great in my living room

Thanks D.

I just don't know what it is about the one with 29 blooms. It has masses every time it blooms and it's also a big big plant (16 big leaves). It was just a standard size Phal when I bought it and the one I bought at the same time is far far smaller.

I repotted spring 2009 and should have put it in a bigger pot, I only just squeezed it back in the 12cm pot it had come in. I then intended to pot it up to 13cm pot but didn't get arround to it then realised I had left it so late it was opening flowers again... so now there is virtually no medium in the pot, just as MASS of roots.

Gorgeous show! It really must be fantastic to have so many Phals in bloom at the same time. I wish my orchids did it.

Rosie,

Good growing! That sogo lovely is really beautiful - I love the shape of the bloom and the coloration. And the phal with 29 blooms... wow!

Hi Rosie,

Congrats on the blooms! I am having the same 'problem' as you. In March there was a spike 'explosion' in my kitchen which resulted in 7 flowering phals. Four of them are noids that are first reblooms, one is another noid that I had never seen bloom, one is a sogo cock that had never bloomed for me yet and the last one is a first bloom seedling equestris. I am truly on cloud nine!

Paula
