It could be from change in environment - air-conditioned store to non-air-conditioned home for example. Unfortunately it happens.

Since you don't know how long the plant was in bloom before you got it, check the roots. If they look good, it's probably the change in environment.

They were in spaghnum moss when I got it. I just hand pollinated it yesterday. Will it hurt if I repot it to see the roots.

You can slip the plant out of the pot to check roots. If they are good and the moss is fresh you should be fine. If they are brown and mushy you will need to cutout the dead ones and repot in fresh media.

I have had the same experience. They were fine and bloomed the next year just as beautifully - if not more so.
