Large-Flower Phalaenopsis
Default Large-Flower Phalaenopsis

I am looking for a large-size-flower phalanopsis as a gift to a friend. The largest one I currently have, a Taisuco Kochdian hybrid, white, is just 5'' (12cm) accross.
I read from some nursery in Taiwan, they even have 6'' (15cm) called Sogo Yukidian "Unixmax", which is also a Taisuco Kochdian hybrid.

Anyone who knows a link in North Ameria where I can find big (6'' accross) flower phalaenopsis plants (whether white or other colors), please let me know.

I'm certainly no authority in this area but I have the same hybrid and my flower is only about 4" across. I can't recall how big they were the last time it flowered... but plant maturity/size, growing conditions, etc, may have something to do with the resulting flower size. My plant is still rather small by my standards and this may be why my flower is only 4". So you may purchase this gift with large flowers expecting the recipient will be able to reproduce large flowers and that not be the case.... Since I don't have a clue as to the capabilities of your friend, I'd shoot for a healthy plant.
