Default New purchases!

I finally got to visit my favorite haunt called Woodsprites Orchids. I got two Phals. One is a species Phal. cornu-cervi and the other is a DTPS pure moon 'green.' I have no idea what this one will look like or anything about it, but the name intrigued me. If any of you know more about this one, please share. Also, I'm very new to species phals.

The name is intriguing, is that the one with the buds?
How exciting, to wait for the "surprise".

The one with the two spikes is the Pure Moon 'Green' and the cornu-cervi is the one with that little flat looking spike. Believe it or not, the little flat looking spike is budding also. It has signs of 4 blooms gone by and 1 more coming on. It's a different spike than I've ever seen. These both were too unique to pass up.

nice choices Kiki! I love the cornu cervi. I have a red one. They are very fragrant and like brighter light than typical phal light. I have mine in a slat basket in cattleya bark and it seems quite happy!

I wanna see those pictures when they bloom!!!

Hi, Kiki. Pure Moon is a cross between Brother Lawrence and Timothy Christopher. I have a Pure Moon 'Sweetheart' I got at Normans Orchids. It is in bloom now with clear yellow flowers on a shortish spike.

You can probably find out a little more about Pure Moon at Orchids.com.

Thanks, Dana, I will send along pics as soon as they bloom. Can you send me a pic of yours and how you have it in that basket?

Hey Kiki, the P. cornu-cervi looks great. That spike will continue to bloom for years so don't cut it when it stops blossoming.......probably late sumer, early fall.
Can't wait for the P. Pure Moon 'Green'. The name would indicate that the flower color leans toward the yellow/green side.
