Phal. equestris first bloom
Howdy! This is the first bloom for me on my Phal. equestris. She is a beauty! Photo color is a bit dull...she's much more vibrant in person.

A cutie for sure! Mine just finished a 2 year bloom cycle. I cut off the spike to give it a chance to rest!

So, is that a good thing to do in general, you think? I seem to remember reading someplace that they can actually bloom themselves to death. Hard to believe.

It' a little gem I love them! mine bloomed for 8 months but then got a touch of root rot and has just re established herself (roots wise) so hopefully will flower again this year.

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I'm totally stoked about her. Many many buds left to open on this her first spike! I'll post more photos when more or all of her blooms are open!

Now, that's one gorgeous Phal, Yvan. Between yours and Sues, I think a new equestris is in my future.
Enjoy and happy, beautiful growing!!!!
