Hi Jay,

My supplies;

Nice piece of wood
Sphag moss
fishing line
Physan - fungicide
Drill - for hole
Wire - to make a hook/wire wrap

I mount mine on all kinds of wood. I find the right fit for the chid, on wood. I rinse and spray the wood, chid & moss with fungicides/ physan.

Drill a hole up top, to hang the mount.

I Lay a slight pad of moss on the wood where the chid is going. Lay the chid down, position it that it will hand sideways, so that the water runs off. (no water in crown).

Then more moss to protect the roots and plant from the fishing line. Genting wrapped the chid with the fishing line, very gently, but make it secure and snug. Tuck more moss in between the line if needed in spots.

I have many many pics of my mounted chids in my photobucket site below.

With a little love, you have those roots grabbing the wood in no time!!!
Good luck Jay!!!

I mount my Phals with the roots up leaves down to avoid water sitting in the crown and secondary leaves which can cause rot . The one with a terminal spike , might produce a basal keiki in time .. Gin
