i got this for FREE!!!
i was at lowes this afternoon to buy a bag of orchid mix and i was at the checkout and the lady there just gave me this orchid! i repotted it and the roots were good.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

i don't have any idea what it looks like. that spike is the old one that was broken about half way. i guess we'll have to wait and see!

By the way (and just a hint) keep the clear pot, dump the sphagnum, but totally keep the clear pot! Watch for moisture on inside pot. Soak the plant totally then wait till the moisture beades leave the inside of pot and roots turn back to white, before watering again. Great way to assure your plant will "make it".
