Default Breeding with Phal violacea vars. alba and coerulea

Hi everyone,

I want to breed standard looking Phals with green and/or purple fades... i was introduced to Phal. violacea var alba and Phal violacea var coerulea and i think they would be great plants to work with!

Only problem is, i know not much about breeding with Phals, particularly the species, and PARTICULARLY the variations... so i have a few questions:

1. How is the flower count, size-shape, longevity, fragrance etc. of the violacea variations?

2. if you breed with variations, do the same traits get pushed over into the kids? i thought i heard something about variations being... variable (duh ) in their kids, but i'm not sure.

3. Does anyone have any flowering-size plants that they'd like to trade some pollen with? i'll be able to trade BIG (11-12cm), white, standard phal pollen, a nice red-lip white phal, or a nice, big, spotted phal pollen.. OR, For fellow aussies your choice of any of my orchid seedlings, Phal schilleriana, ghost orchids, etc. OR, cash, the entire contents of my bank account, OR, seedlings of the progeny (for locals), OR pollen of the progeny, OR, my soul, sold or leased, interest compounded monthly...

thanks!

Follow this link. The Hybridizers Forum It has the most info on breeding Phals that I have found. There is some discussion on breeding for green.
