Cracked leaf at the base
Default Cracked leaf at the base

Hello all! just purchased this beutiful Phalarnopsis and when cleaning the leaves I put a little to much pressure and one of the leaves cracked at the base at one side, the other side is all good.

Do you think the leaf will survive?

Any advice will be much appreciated! attaching the pics

The plant overall will be just fine. The leaf may or may not be shed/dropped by the plant. I’d guess it’ll keep the leaf, but if it starts to turn yellow, just leave it alone.

Thank You for information, I just hope it will not shed the leaf as it will look not very pleasing as it is the middle leaf.

The other side is completely intact, and on damaged side there is at least one centimiter of connected tissue

Ditto to what Dimples said above. The plant has suffered an accidental injury that will not affect its health in any way, and only time will tell if that damaged leaf will remain attached or turn yellow and fall off.

Continue with proper care and that Phalaenopsis will reward you with blooms of those pretty white flowers every year or so.
