I have a v3 and a used surf song from them. they came rooted in sphagnum and were pretty much root rotted out.
I give these 2 of mine very little hope of ever seeing a flower ever again.
the trash can is in their future. sometimes its therapeutic to throw one in da trash

The already flowered ones are definitely ready for repotting, but don't give up. More of those roots are alive than you think.

I did repot all mine in bark, and they had generally good roots. I was overall pleased with the robustness of the plant/roots and the price.

Well, the roots were in at least a medium condition and were abundant throughout the plastic sleeve pot. I wasn't displeased (for the price).

Well well, guess what I found today....
Yep, you guessed it..a new spike. Guess the orchid gods have smiled upon me.
It's likely that it has escaped the trash bin. Seriously it's responded great to being freshly repotted, continuing to grow a new leaf at a pretty fast clip (at least as I remember phals...it had been 15 or 20 years since I tried one) AND a tiny new spike all in the space of a bit less than 2 months.

You know, they say it's a sure sign of insanity when you reply back to yourself. But, I had news....
Ok, so given that the phal I got from Hausermann had two cut stems when I got it....ok, so now a 2nd new scape has formed.
Remind me to not say bad things about Hausermann. I am impressed, that one nice looking (but not enormous) phal would push out 4 scapes within a calendar year.
The plant looks really good to me..but I'm sure it's not gonna be as happy with winter finally having arrived (after endless summer). But then again, light and temps will be picking up here by March.
