I have found a couple EU growers selling them, but it didn’t look like they would ship to the US. Has anyone had luck with that?

Sometimes a good approach is to play a waiting game, and check various vendor websites every few months.

As to importing, the paperwork costs money and you'll end up spending a whole lot more than just the cost of the plant... For example, Roelke Orchideen will ship abroad, and while the plant costs only 12,50€, a phyto document is 50€ and if CITES is also needed it's an extra 35-125€ according to their site.
