On June 21, 1961 the Heart O' Texas Orchid Society was organized.

The purpose of the Heart O' Texas Orchid Society, a non-profit, educational organization, shall be to stimulate an interest in Orchids, relative to their propagation, conservation growth, cultural methods, nomenclature, and their exhibition.

The Heart O' Texas Orchid Society is an active member of the Austin Area Garden Council, The American Orchid Society , Southwest Regional Orchid Growers Association (SWROGA) and Orchid Digest, with member representatives attending affiliation meetings and events.

I'm happy to learn about this orchid society. I grew up in Austin which is one of the great cities in this country. I now live in Florida where orchids grow in the wild and in many yards. Part of my heart is still in Texas and if I was there I would be attending the Heart O' Texas meetings. Good luck to your organization.
