Default Setting up lights.

I have been growing under lights for a little bit with some sucess but I have them near a window and they get sunlight too.

I now have another set up I need to set up lights for the this winter. I just brought them in from their summer vacation outside.

Here is what I am dealing with. I can't decide what would be the best way to add lights to it.

I can move the shelves around I am thinking a light at the top and more the shelves around to fit the plants better. But I should add another light or could one be ok since I have some east morning sun?

I just bought this light.

Maybe I should buy another?

Thanks. These LED lights are all Red and blue so it will look weird to my eyes. It will be good for the plants. I have some plants growing under T5 and T8 they are doing ok they also have some Sunlight in the AM to help.

I am excited to try the fancy LED grow lights. They should be better than my t5 and t8 lights. I grow my Paphs under the T8. I will still use them but on different plants. It will be fun to see the difference in growth.

Fingers crossed for you. I am trying a red/blue but the one I got is just a bulb. I have the same shelf and I have put it down in my garage in the basement for my Masdie's and I have the cover on it to keep up the humidity. I'm hoping they will be happy.

You of course will need more light so I'd think these will work well.

I got my lights. They look crazy and are VERY bright. The whole room is purple.

This light is 60watt 112 lights, Red 620-625nm Blue 465 to 470nm. That is what I have going on here. The light might be more than I need.

I took the cover off. I might put it back on not sure yet. We will see how the temps and Humidity are. So far average Humidity is 30% a little low but not too bad. I also have the window open a bit to help with air flow and to cool them off at night. If I kept the window closed the humidity would be 40%.

With this new set up I can fit more plants hahah. I moved them to a north facing window because I think these lights will be enough.

Those look great!

I did the same thing, only with the fluorescents. My windows were all full of plants and I needed to put the orchids somewhere....so two years ago, I put a shelving unit in a dark corner. Earlier this summer, I bought another shelving unit for some of my other plants. Growing under lights really gives one options.
